Before any vehicles should be booked and shipped, a clear understanding of the regulations and guidelines is important:
1) Car Manufactured in the USA
US Goods Returned is not a problem to re-import into the USA
2) Car is not manufactured in the USA & is not up the USA DOT / EPA road standards
In this case the vehicle must be converted via a certified shop who controls the process and is responsible to DOT / EPA to provide proof of USA conversion. This is a very expensive process.
3) Car is not manufactured in the USA but is certified to be up to DOT / EPA standards
This needs to be documented prior to clearance
4) Tourist and/or Temporary Importation
The vehicle must leave the USA within 6 months with proof of export
